Tabernacle Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1978. Thanks to the support of our community we have survived and now have a top notch Fire Department. Our fleet consists of 3 front line pumpers, 2 tankers, 1 squad, 1 brush truck, 1 Crown Victoria for the Assistant Chief, and 1 Dodge Ram 1500 for the Chief. In 2005 we responded to over 360 calls with medical assistance and auto accidents making up the majority of those calls.
In 2002 we completed a new addition to station 18. This new addition consists of three new bays large enough to house full size pumpers, sleeping quarters, two shower facilities, offices, laundry and storage facilities, and an exercise room. All made possible through the outstanding support of our board of directors.
In March of 2006 we broke ground on our new sub-station; Station 28. This new station was completed August 2006. Station 28 began service Friday September 1, 2006.
